Teaching requirements in the Middle
East for TEFL teachers
The minimum requirement for English language teachers in the Middle East is a four-year degree from a country where English is spoken. College instructors must hold a master’s degree in TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) and have three to five years of full tertiary teaching experience.
A certificate to teach
English as a foreign language as well as a
bachelor’s degree are usually not sufficient to
teach at an international school where all or
most of the subjects are taught in English.
